Bill Matejka has spent more than three decades in wealth management, building his career the way he believes good planning should be built: patiently, thoughtfully, and from the ground up. Raised in Aurora, Ohio, Bill developed a toughness and work ethic that shaped his mindset and approach to advising.
He began his career as an advisor assistant at McDonald Investments, learning the business from the inside out before stepping fully into his role as advisor. Today at FNA, Bill works primarily with police officers, firefighters, and public employees who have accumulated significant retirement savings, often within governmental 457(b) plans. His expertise centers on asset allocation and tax planning strategies designed to turn years of saving into meaningful retirement outcomes.
Bill often describes himself as a translator—someone who helps turn clients’ hopes and goals into clear, actionable plans. Known for his curiosity, flexibility, and good-natured demeanor, he’s never set in his ways and is always searching for better solutions for his clients.
Outside the office, Bill stays active through kayaking, biking, running, pickleball, and travel. He’s a bourbon enthusiast, a live music fan, and a devoted follower of Cleveland sports. He supports St. Malachi Catholic Church and volunteers to help feed the poor. Above all, Bill takes pride in the long-standing relationships he’s built—more than $80 million in client trust, earned one conversation at a time.
Jonathan Mistofsky’s path to financial advising started far from Cleveland—in Scotland, where he grew up surrounded by people who valued hard work, humility, and showing up fully for others. Those traits carried him through an early career in New York City investor relations, where he sharpened his financial expertise. At just 25, built a full investor roadshow from scratch, flying solo to Brazil to meet with prospective clients.
Today at FNA, Jonathan works closely with public safety officers, teachers, municipal employees, medical professionals, and private-sector individuals, helping them navigate retirement planning with clarity and confidence. His specialty in public sector benefits—public pensions, deferred comp plans, Social Security, and estate planning—makes him a trusted guide for people facing big, often complex decisions.
Clients describe Jonathan as warm, reliable, and exceptionally prepared. He prides himself on thorough pre-meeting planning and thoughtful follow-through, bringing a sense of steadiness and organization to every client relationship. He also speaks at retirement planning workshops across local municipalities where his calm, friendly demeanor helps clients feel confident and at ease.
Jonathan lives in Solon with his wife Amy, their children Emily and Ben, and their Australian Labradoodle Earl (along with a couple of hermit crabs and a betta fish for whom he has somehow become responsible). Outside of work he enjoys pickleball, walking Earl in cold weather, grilling in warm weather, and golfing whenever time allows.
From Scotland to New York to Cleveland, Jonathan’s career has been defined by the same principle: help people make thoughtful, confident decisions about the future, and treat every client with genuine care.
